About an hour later, we bumped into the guy again, and he told us of jazz show at the square at 7 PM, so we headed there. Along the way, we took a break at a riverside fountain.

Then we headed across the Dane (Dah-nay) River, on one of the wedding bridges. The story goes that a groom must carry his bride across seven bridges, and they typically start with this one. Our guide said something about going on to Palanga (about 20 miles up the road). I guess there are not seven worthy bridges in Klaipeda.

She also told us that couples "lock" themselves together to the bridge, as a symbol that their marriage cannot be broken.
